LISTED REFURBISHMENT

20190530_DSC_1129_edited.jpg

Working in a Listed Building does not mean you can’t change anything. With careful attention to design and a respectful attitude to the existing building there is a world of opportunity to be explored.

The property consisted of a single floor within a listed Victorian mansion block in a much sought-after address in Kensington.

The client required the opening up of the Living room and Kitchen area into a large, open-plan zone.

On closer inspection of the property we came across the opportunity to add habitable space by changing the location of the front door. This small move freed up space in the bedroom area creating additional usable, living space in a part of London this is an extremely high-value commodity.

The benefits of the refurbishment were therefore more evenly distributed across the entire property rather than just the living room as initially planned. We obtained Listed Building approval, Planning and Building Regulations approval for this scheme.
